March 2018 Glenn Evans receives the shackle (yet again!) this month, for some apparent lack of boating prowess on Australia Day. For all the details, have a chat with Glenn about it...

February 2018 Carl Bleazard wins the shackle this month, for decided to take a "comfort break" whilst camping - squatting right on top of a cactus! Ouch!

December 2017 Nigel Ward was awarded the Broken Shackle award for forgetting to change out of his slippers before coming to the meeting. Check our photo gallery for evidence!

November 2017 A special award this month. Glenn Evans received the shackle for... well, just for being Glenn! We love you, mate :)

October 2017 David Pearce won for using baby wipes to have a clean with and then putting them back in the packet for his wife to use later – eeewwww!

September 2017 On the North West leg of the East to West trip, Ed planned to have a wheel balance whilst in Derby and used Google to locate an establishment and pressed the Call button. After asking if he could bring his vehicle in any time, the Irishman replied you could bring it any time this morning. This confused Ed a bit as it was afternoon when he was making the call. The next day the place in Derby claimed Ed hadn't rung and after Ed checked Google again he realised he had called Derby in the United Kingdom!

August 2017 Brian Harris (one of our club's towing trainers) forgot to hitch his van properly before heading off at 4am to Alice Springs

July 2017 Jason Richards is this months shackle winner. Whilst attending his 4-WHEEL-DRIVING course, recovering 4-WHEEL-DRIVE vehicles, Jason was struggling. Turns out that 4-WHEEL-DRIVES do better recoveries when you don't leave them in 2-WHEEL-DRIVE, eh Jase?

June 2017 And the lucky winner of the broken shackle this month is Tori. Amazing how she pestered Ben to run a trip to the Spanish Steps, and then forgot to go. Or something like that.

May 2017 George Dib wins the Shackle this month. George was at Bush Mechanics training – finished his training and received a talk about responsible 4WDing, removing rubbish, leaving nothing behind except footprints, etc. Only to depart and leave his chair behind!

April 2017 During this month's Sand Driver Training, a trainee couldn’t get up a sand dune. Glenn Evans left his car at the top of the dune and walked down to help (1st mistake). After dropping the tyre pressure a couple of times the trainee finally drove to the top of the dune. This left Glenn still at the bottom of the dune and had to walk up and out! And yes, this is Glenn presenting the shackle to himself...

March 2017 This's months winner is Adam Harmer. On a recent camping trip, Adam set up a pull out camper bed for his daughter. However, he forgot to set up the securing straps underneath, causing her to fall out during the night! (No photo taken at the meeting, so I stole this off Facebook!)
